6 Ways to Style Your Sneakers from Daytime to Date Time
Sneakers are the perfect shoe to put into your rotation for the next several months until it’s boot season again. There are so many different options out there from simple white to stars, metallic, and studded. There is something for EVERYONE. I have had a few friends tell me that they aren’t sure how to style fashion sneakers or that they don’t look good in them…and I don’t believe it! Sneakers can be worn so many ways. There is definitely a way to wear them that fits your style, age, budget, and activities. I styled three different pairs of sneakers at three different price points for this sneaker styling session.
Summer Feelings
Pairing your sneakers with a romper must be the EASIEST outfit ever! It is so easy to slip on a romper and grab a pair of sneakers. This is an especially great style option if you want to dress down one of your rompers for a more casual look. This gives me all the summer feelings for everything from a lunch date with girlfriends to heading to the zoo with your favorite kiddos. I paired this romper with super affordable white sneakers from Walmart.
On the Go
I love colored denim for spring and summer. They pair easily with dressy sandals and nice tops, but just as easily with a t-shirt and sneakers for errands and sporting events. For this look, I paired very casual Adidas sneakers with coral colored denim and a t-shirt. This pair of sneakers is actually a kid’s size! Kid size shoes generally go to a size 6, which is a women’s size 8. If you wear a shoe size in this range, you may be able to score a great deal on some sneakers in the youth department.
On the Road Again
This look is perfect for errands, road trips, and anywhere where comfort is the PRIORITY! It is common to pair tennis shoes with leggings and athletic tights, but you can elevate your athleisure just a bit by wearing fashion sneakers with joggers. I added a POP to this outfit with the super cute dash sneakers from Kate Spade. They have leopard and metallic details to add some personality to your outfit.
Simple and Sophisticated
I love pairing a feminine and dressy outfit with a casual shoe. This combination would be perfect for an event or shower. By pairing a dressier outfit with a sneaker, the look is more versatile and can be worn for many more occasions. Sneakers look great with shorter dresses and skirts!
Cute and Casual
Colored chinos are a great way to elevate an outfit a step above jeans. You could easily wear this look for a casual Friday at work (there are so many casual days for work right now!) or out shopping with friends and family. You could switch shoes for a summer date night, but wear sneakers during the day for 100% comfort.
Down for a Date
Sneakers can also be worn with midi length dresses. If you want to make the dress a bit shorter, you can belt it at the waist and blouson it over the belt. For this look I paired a lightweight sweater midi dress with a faux leather jacket and sneakers with leopard detailing. The look is a little edgy, but feminine…and it would be great for a casual date.
