I LIKE BIG BOOKS AND I CANNOT LIE: 2021 Reading Plan

Do you enjoy reading? I love reading, but I don’t always have time to read as much as I want. Like I said in my social media post, I only have two modes: 1) read the entire book in one sitting or 2) never finish the book. There are some months where I read 5-10 books and some months where I read 0 (and may not even try to!). Last year I read about 60 books.

My favorite genre to read is probably mystery/suspense (often with a little bit of a love story). I don’t love “romance” without mystery or if they are too graphic, and I can’t read horror mystery. Last year I read No Exit by Taylor Adams (which probably isn’t even that bad) and it definitely freaked me out for a few nights…so no Stephen King here! I also like short classics, books that are socially/seasonally relevant, and I LOVE to listen to autobiographies read by the author. Some of my favorite autobiographies are those by Anna Kendrick, Rob Lowe, and Tan France.

At the end of the post, I will share the books (the ones I can remember…) I read last year just in case you like the same types of books and have not read these. This year I picked out a handy dandy book journal for Christmas (thanks, Mom), so I will (hopefully) be much better about keeping track of my reads.

For 2021, I plan on reading a mix of my favorite types of books as outlined above. The “classics” are mostly re-reads, but it’s been far too long since I read them. I don’t generally read books over again (nor do I usually watch most movies a second time…), but it’s been so long since I read some of these books that my memories on the details are FUZZY at best. It is likely that I will read additional books throughout the year that are not on this reading plan, and I’ll continue to share those on my social media stories.
