Neutral Spring and Summer Shoes for Different Styles and Budgets
Do you live in sandals during the spring and summer (or maybe you are lucky enough to live somewhere warm enough to wear sandals during every season)? Does your job require something more formal? Are you a sneaker aficionado?
Like many others, I am working from home the majority of the time, but that does not stop me from wanting new shoes. Spring has sprung and my shoe collection is ready for a refresh. These blush and nude pairs are super versatile, comfortable, and will work all the way through summer.
The Steal.
I have been interested in wedge sneakers for several months, but I could not justify spending the money because I was not sure if I would like the style. I live in Keds and similar styles on the weekends, but I was not sure if the hidden wedge would look right on me. I could not believe it when I stumbled across these blush wedge sneakers at Walmart for LESS THAN $20. At that price point, I wanted to give them a shot and they did NOT disappoint. They are comfortable, trendy, and look great with skinny jeans and leggings. The first day I wore them, two friends ordered them that same day.
The Splurge.
The Tory Burch Miller sandals have been around for years, but I did not take the plunge until I found a pair on sale at the end of last year. They were a beautiful tropical blue color, but I knew the color was not very versatile (read: I only bought them because they were on sale even though I definitely did not need blue sandals). I picked up this pair in sand patent (the color I actually wanted) and I am sure that they will be a workhorse in my wardrobe for years to come. I also think the patent leather will be less prone to scratching at the front (the blue shoes were also not patent…). If you are in between sizes, get your larger size. They are a splurge, but you can catch sales on select colors fairly often.
There are actually several colors on sale right now on the Tory Burch website. Look at that rose gold!
The Work and Event Shoe.
Have you ever tried the INC International Concepts brand shoes at Macy’s? I cannot walk through the Macy’s shoe department without something from this brand catching my eye. They have so many practical work shoes, but also a ton of trendy choices (sparkly, mules, embellishments). This pair is a statement piece to add to your wardrobe.
These shoes photograph nude (especially on the website), but they are a very pretty blush color. BONUS: I just checked the Macy’s website, and these are now less than $45 (maybe I need to order the black…). The details and embellishments are reminiscent of the Valentino cage pumps, but at a fraction of the price. These shoes spice up your work wardrobe, but they would also be a perfect spring and summer event shoe.
Which pair(s) will you add to your closet?
